Summer means eel! Eel is full of nutrients, and it’s a great way to prevent summer fatigue. So, on my way home from work, I stopped by an eel restaurant in Ginza to enjoy this seasonal treat.
Noboritei Ginza is located just down a small alley near the Tenshodo angel statue. It’s easy to spot with its yellow sign. This place offers reasonably priced eel, so it often has a line, but I was lucky enough to get in right away.

A cute character on the hand towel.
I’ve visited the Shinjuku location before, but they also have branches in Ueno Hirokoji and Higashi-Ginza (under the name “Tomimatsu”). In Shinjuku, the first floor is for takeout, and the second floor is for dining.
At the Ginza location, the takeout counter is along the hallway, and dining is in the back. You can also order bento boxes for takeout at the same price. The dining area has around 10 seats, including three two-person tables and a counter near the entrance.

Unajū Take (Medium Eel Box). It comes with liver soup and pickles.

Pickles.

Liver soup.

There’s a bottle of sauce next to the table, so you can add more if needed.
They accept electronic payments, so you can use Suica. Unlike some traditional restaurants that only accept cash or credit, here you can even pay for eel with an Apple Watch.
Enjoying nutritious eel is a great way to recharge and prevent summer fatigue. It’s a treat for myself for working hard, helping me get through the hot Obon holiday. Sometimes, a little luxury with eel is well-deserved.
