I Had Kinkaton Shabu-Shabu at Hirata Bokujo Kiwami

I went to “Hirata Bokujo Kiwami” on the 6th floor of KITTE Marunouchi to enjoy Kinkaton (premium pork) shabu-shabu. After a dentist appointment, I wanted to treat myself to something delicious. It was a little after 1 pm, and the restaurant was full, so I had to wait a bit, but I eventually got in.

I was seated by the window, with a fantastic view of Tokyo Station and the Marunouchi skyline.

I had planned to order a beer, but I noticed they had “Shirohonoka,” so I chose that instead of the standard draft. Shirohonoka is also available at the MUJI Diner in Ginza’s MUJI store and Yabaton in Ginza. Lately, it seems to be appearing on more menus.

The appetizer arrived first—three items: Kinkaton prosciutto, salami, and bamboo shoots. I enjoyed them with Shirohonoka.

After the appetizer, the main Kinkaton shabu-shabu set was served. The pork came in two types. I remember only the name of the “shoulder loin” on the left. The dipping sauce was made from flying fish; you dip the meat in it after swishing it in the shabu-shabu broth.

The meat was tender and flavorful, filling my mouth with rich taste. It was a delicious lunch.

Note: The “Premium Kinkaton Shabu-Shabu Set” is available only on weekends, and a reservation is required on weekdays.
