I Went to Blue Corner UC near Haneda Airport’s Shin-Seibijo Station for Yakisoba!

Near Haneda Airport, right by the Monorail Shin-Seibijo Station, there’s the Blue Corner UC branch. Although there used to be a main branch near the Seibijo area, it closed last year, leaving this as the only Blue Corner location. Known for its yakisoba, I went there specifically to try it out.

The location is easy to find. Once you exit the ticket gate at Shin-Seibijo Station, there’s a direct underground path that leads to ground level. From there, walk toward the road, and you’ll see the building with Blue Corner on the second floor.

Upon entering the building, you’ll see a staircase directly in front of you. The Blue Corner logo is visible on the wall at the top, so just go up to the second floor, and you’ll find the entrance on the left.

The restaurant feels quite spacious. There are table seats, but I chose a counter seat by the window. You can watch enormous airplanes passing by on Haneda Airport’s grounds as you enjoy your meal—a unique experience.

The person who entered just before me mentioned a reservation, so the place is likely popular for company gatherings and events.

I started with a beer and a side of chilled tomatoes, mainly because I realized I hadn’t eaten enough vegetables recently. Of course, I didn’t forget to order the carb-heavy yakisoba to balance that out. A medium draft beer is 560 yen, the chilled tomatoes are 450 yen, and the yakisoba is 900 yen. They also offer a salt-flavored yakisoba option.

The yakisoba is quite generous in portion size, so light eaters might want to take note.

Watching the planes makes me feel a strange urge to travel. Seeing these vessels of adventure stirs a longing for a journey. It’s different from watching the commuter trains I’m used to—these planes symbolize far-off destinations and exploration. Pairing a beer and yakisoba, like I’d get at a festival stall, with the unique view of an airport makes the experience a bit out of the ordinary.

This isn’t exactly a place that tourists using the airport would stumble upon. It’s more of a spot for the local office crowd, but there aren’t many places—even inside the airport—where you can enjoy a meal with such close views of planes.

For those who love airplanes or, like me, who haven’t traveled in a while but want to indulge in the feeling of wanting to travel again, it’s a relaxing place.

The izakaya-style menu is also quite extensive, so next time, I’d like to skip the filling yakisoba and try a variety of other dishes.
